🏠STEM Champion: Curtis Homes

When industry professionals open their job sites to students, learning shifts from theoretical to tangible. That’s exactly what happened when Thad Iremonger, Regional Manager for Curtis Homes, welcomed David Scharfenberg’s Advanced STEM students from Hood River Middle School to an active build site in Hood River.

🔧 Gorge MakerSpace Tool Up Summer Camps: Explore Careers in Construction & Tech

Gorge MakerSpace’s Tool Up 2026 offers two free, week-long summer camps for 11th–12th graders and recent graduates interested in hands-on careers.

  • Construction Camp: June 15–19 (stipend available)

  • Tech Camp: August 10–14

⭐Kindergarten Families Can Boost College Savings with a $100 Bonus

The Oregon Department of Education and Oregon State Treasury are encouraging kindergarten families to start saving for their child’s future through Oregon’s Embark 529 education savings plan. Families who open a new account with a $25 deposit can receive a $100 education savings bonus, and schools can access free kindergarten graduation diplomas and family resources to help celebrate this milestone and share the opportunity.
