2022-2023 Microgrant Winners
Congratulations to our 2022-2023 STEM Educator Microgrant Recipients!
This year, the STEM Hub received an even greater number of submissions than last year for our annual Microgrant opportunity with representation from educators across all five Oregon counties in our Columbia Gorge STEM Hub serving area. This made it even more competitive and challenging for the selection committee to choose recipients. Congratulations to the grantees!
Sally Anderson Receives STEM Education Leader of the Year by Gorge Technology Alliance
Sally is the K-5 STEM Educator for Hood River County School District. Her work involves providing quality STEM lessons to all K-5 students through her STEM Fab Bus. Sally also partners with administrators to innovate STEM programming and expand professional development opportunities for STEM educators. Congratulations again, Sally!
The Oregon Game Project Challenge (OGPC) is an annual competition for Middle or High School student teams who work together to make a video game based on the theme for the year. In the spring, they bring their project to the OGPC Main Event to present to other teams and industry professionals. This year, the 16th of OGPC, the theme is Breaking Conventions and the Main Event will be at Western Oregon University on May 20th.
The STEAM Daydream podcast from the National Children's Museum can be streamed on Spotify, Apple and Google podcasts, Pandora, Audible and Amazon Music! In 20 minutes or less, hear from a Kid Investigator and Real-Life experts on many STEAM topics!
3-Day Teacher Training Workshop for Field-Based Science Inquiry
The training is sponsored by the Diack Ecology Education Program and the Jane Goodall Environmental Middle School. This FREE workshop will be held Feb 18-20th at Oregon Institute of Marine Biology in Charleston, Oregon.

You for Youth’s (Y4Y), is offering a new training module: Creating a Makerspace: Training to Go, that provides out of school time (OST) programs with tools to develop an effective makerspace by understanding OST learners, evaluating existing program offerings and school-day curricula, considering global trends and best practices, developing a theme, and gathering your resources. Y4Y is a free open resource and online professional learning and technical assistance portal for Nita M. Lowey 21stCentury Community Learning Centers grant programs.
