Educator Recognition
⭐Educator Spotlight: Nancy Behrmann⭐
We are thrilled to honor Nancy Behrmann for her outstanding dedication to making learning both visual and hands-on for her students. During her teaching of body systems, Nancy has created personalized labs and demonstrations for each system, providing students with invaluable, interactive learning experiences.
In addition to her expertise as a science educator, Nancy’s bilingual skills enrich the learning environment and foster inclusivity in the classroom. We are proud to honor Nancy and appreciate her unwavering commitment to student success! Nancy was nominated by Jaimie Carr, 7th and 8th Grade Integrated Science Teacher at Wy'east Middle School.

🧒Early STEM Collective and Advisory Meeting Group(s) - May 15, 2025
PreK-1st grade educators are invited to join the STEM Hub during the Early STEM Collective followed by Early Learning Advisory Committee meeting.
6-7 PM: Early STEM Collective - A space for preschool and elementary educators to collaborate, share STEM resources, and discuss classroom strategies.
7-8 PM: Early Learning Advisory Group - An advisory meeting for educators and stakeholders to provide feedback and guidance for STEM Hub efforts.
➗K-5 Mindset Math - Spring Sessions - Join us in May and June!
Join other elementary educators from across the state to explore mathematics strategies to support students in understanding the "big ideas" around grade-level mathematics, as well as develop their own growth mindset!
➕K-12: Oregon Math Leaders Conference - August 5-7, 2025
Attend the Oregon Math Leaders 2025 conference, August 5-7 in Corvallis, for an inspiring event tailored to K-12 educators, coaches, and math leaders. Enjoy engaging sessions, networking opportunities, and a keynote speaker who has shaped the field of math education.
The STEM Read podcast explores the intersection of STEM and storytelling, featuring conversations with educators, STEM experts, and authors to spark ideas and enthusiasm for learning. Join hosts Gillian King-Cargile and Dr. Kristin Brynteson for book recommendations, classroom inspiration, and geeky fun in science, tech, engineering, arts, and math.

🌳Oregon Agriculture In the Classroom: Agriculture in the Classroom is a nationwide educational program designed to help students develop an understanding that agriculture is the source of our food, clothing, shelter and other essentials. Explore just some of their great resources!
Calendar Contest: K-6 Educators can submit students' artwork featuring Oregon agriculture to this year's calendar art contest by 5/1 for a prize!
Career Connected Learning Opportunities
👩💼CTE Regional Advisory Committee Launches - Join us in Fall 2025!
The inaugural CTE Regional Advisory Committee meeting was held on March 13th at The Dalles High School, uniting 51 educators, administrators, and industry partners who attended with the goal of strengthening ties between education and workforce development. The event fostered collaboration and discussion on expanding career pathways and hands-on learning for students. The next meeting is planned for Fall 2025 at Hood River Valley High School. Industry partners interested in engaging are encouraged to reach out to Kate Wurster at kwurster@cgesd.k12.or.us.
🕴Career Connected Learning - 3-Part Webinar Series (April & May)

Hosted at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Portland campus, this FREE one-day camp for Oregon high school seniors intrested in health care careers features hands-on medical simulations, expert speakers and career exploration in fields like medicine, nursing and research.
