🌟Save the Date: 2025 Journey to the Stars - Saturday, April 5th!
PreK-3rd Grade Educators: We are excited to announce the 2025 Journey to the Stars Conference will be on Saturday April 5, 2025! Proposals for facilitators are now being accepted! We are currently looking for training facilitators to offer workshop sessions during our conference! Submit your proposal for a 3-hour session in English and/or Spanish to support the development of Columbia Gorge's early educators. Preference will be given to facilitators providing Set 2 or Set 3 sessions. Compensation is provided. Event will take place at the Fort Dalles Readiness Center 402 E Scenic Drive The Dalles, OR 97058.

⭐The Learning to Lead Program Continues for it's 3rd Year
The Learning to Lead program through a partnership with Oregon State University and Wasco County 4-H is entering its third year, focusing on empowering teens in STEM fields through leadership training and hands-on experiences. The programming aims to equip young leaders with essential skills and foster a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math.
🤖ISTE Artificial Intelligence Explorations for 6th-12th Grade Educators
Prepare your students to understand how to use AI in their personal and professional lives to facilitate learning and solve real-world problems. In this online course, learn to identify the various types of AI, hear about AI technologies on the horizon and build some of your own tools to make AI concrete and accessible for you and your students. This is a 15-hour, self-paced course with ongoing instructor support. No previous knowledge of AI or experience coding is required.

🔢ODE’s High School Math Pathways Project: Virtual Engagement Sessions
HS Math Teachers, Administrators, and Counselors can learn more about the 2+1 model for High School Math Pathways, including new guidance and guidlines from ODE and the Oregon Math Project to support districts and high schools with their math pathways implementation plans. ODE math specialists will host a Q & A segment at the end of each session.
Asking Purposeful Questions Workshop Series:Begins in November | Live Online (Free - hosted by ACRES) - a VERY impactful workshop series for afterschool staff doing STEM activities in their programs!

👨💻6-12th Grade: Samsung Solve for Tomorrow - Applications now open!
Samsung Solve for Tomorrow invites Oregon educators to enter a nationwide competition that empowers 6-12th grade students to use STEM to tackle community issues. Applications are open until October 24th, with the chance to win a share of $2 million in technology and supplies for classrooms. Students partner with their teachers to address challenges like food waste and climate change through new innovative solutions!
4th-12th Educators: Manufacturing-Focused Quarterly PLC with CGCC Faculty
📅 Friday, November 1st @ 4-6pm This quarterly learning community session is designed for 4th-12th grade educators who are passionate about deepening their understanding of manufacturing skills and technologies. Participants will engage in hands-on exploration of key manufacturing concepts, learn about the latest industry advancements, and collaborate with CGCC college faculty and fellow educators. The focus will be on integrating these skills into the classroom through collaborative lesson planning.
☀️Participating educators will receive a stipend for their time, mileage reimbursement, and dinner will also be provided.

2024-2027 Oregon CTE State Plan: The Oregon CTE State Plan is a high-level, four-year strategic plan outlining outcomes and strategies to guide Oregon's ongoing work to build world-class CTE.
2024-2025 CTE Policy Guidebook: This guidebook creates a one-stop shop of information on how to manage and implement CTE Programs of Study, representing a collaborative effort to advance Oregon's vision for CTE.

📔HS Seniors: US Junior Chamber International Senate Foundation Scholarships Each year, the U.S. Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Foundation grants $1,500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at an accredited postsecondary college or university; scholarships of $1,000 will be available to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited vocational or industrial school.
