Middle School Career Challenge Video Library: Coming in May!
The STEM Hub will be rolling out a library of virtual Career Challenges created by local industry professionals for Middle School Educators this May.

This exciting externship is open to any middle or high school educator from Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, Gilliam & Wheeler counties (including administrators and non-licensed staff).

Nominations for 2023 Regional Winners within the Oregon Teacher of the Year award are open until 2/28/2023. The Oregon Department of Education, in partnership with the Oregon Lottery offers $1,000 awards for Regional Teachers of the Year winners!
February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month!
CTE Month is a national campaign to raise awareness of the role that CTE has in readying learners for college and career success. National CTE Month is also a time to celebrate the achievements of our CTE partners at the local, state and national level. CTE Month is supported by a variety of CTE groups and organized by theAssociation for Career and Technical Education (ACTE).
Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation offers lesson plans on a variety of local agriculture-related topics and K-12 professional development opportunities.
GTA's 2023 Corwin Hardham Memorial Scholarship is Now Open! (HS)
This scholarship is awarded annually to Gorge high school seniors pursuing post-secondary degrees in STEM fields. Students from Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, Skamania, and Klickitat Counties who are graduating from high school, home school, or receiving a GED in the spring/summer may apply. Applications must be received by 5pm on Monday, February 27, 2023.
Free Half-Day Science Workshop for MS Girls: Saturday, March 11th
OSU is hosting a free half-day, IN PERSON science workshop called Discovering the Scientist Within. The goal of the workshop is to introduce girls in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades to the STEM fields. The event will be held IN PERSON on Oregon State University’s campus in Corvallis, Oregon, on Saturday, March 11th from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Individual pre-registration is required and closes March 3rd.
The USDA-ARS Postharvest Lab in Hood River is looking to hire a full-time summer research assistant. This is an entry-level position in the agricultural field! Start and end dates are flexible.
